Notes for reading

Time:

Time is counted in hours, days, moons, and years. A year has twelve moons; a moon, thirty days; a week, six days (Youngday, Thunderday, Brushday, Mistday, Kindday, Sacredday).

Names of moons (and months):

Purple, Darkness, Mud (winter); Straw, White, Celestial (spring); Gadflies, Redmoon, Wells (summer); Joys, Wolves, Squalls (autumn).

Saïjits:

The saïjits (a group of twenty humanoid races) have a life expectancy of 80 to 120 years depending on the place.

Currency:

Half-nail (coin with a hole), nail, five-nail, dixclous (rhomboidal shape), coin of twenty-five nails, coin of half a siato, siato (100 nails or cents, a goldy), coin of five siatos, crown (20 siatos, a whitewheel); assignat of 1 siato, of 2, 5, and 20 siatos.
